It is a soft' carrier - without a frame - that disperses the weight of the baby evenly between the parent's hips and shoulders (like a framed backpack carrier but without the bulk).
Unlike a framed backpack carrier, which sits the baby away from the parent's body and throws the parent's equilibrium off, The Ergo hugs the baby close to the parent's torso and makes it easier for a parent or carer to manoeuvre.
Wear 3 ways - Front, hip or back carry
In The ERGO, the baby sits in a pouch created by the body of the carrier; in many other carriers the baby hangs by the crotch. This distinction between 'sitting' and 'hanging' is significant because when the baby is in a seated position the weight of the head is dispersed between the spine, hips and thighs, causing less compression of the spine than if the baby were hanging in a carrier.
The ergonomic design supports a correct sitting position for baby's physical development and eliminates compression on baby's spine.
The ERGO's wide shoulder straps and waist belt distribute baby's weight evenly, alleviating physical strain for parents. Baby's weight is drawn in towards parent's centre of gravity, making the baby feel lighter.
A specially padded and shaped cushion that fits into the baby carrier worn on the front. Recommended use from newborn to 4 - 5 months depending on the growth of your baby.
ERGO offers continued support when a baby sling or front carrier is no longer comfortable. It is lighter and more secure than a hard-frame baby back-pack.
The ERGO Baby Carriers come with a detailed instructional booklet including illustrations and the instructional DVD chapters are available online.

Don't know if I got around to emailing you or not (blame it on nappy brain). Just wanted to say how brilliant the ergo baby carrier is. It has been our saving grace. Jack was clingy and wanted to be held all the time which meant either my husband or I always had him to sleep on us while the other one ran around playing with our two other children or doing housework. Now if he is unsettled and needs a sleep, we put him in the pack which he instantly falls asleep in then transfer him to bed.
Its also fab to take out as so easy or to cook or do ironing while he is in it. I am so enthusiastic about it, it must be great to sell such a great product. Love it, love it, love it. Also very impressed by turn around time. I got pack in Chch within 24 hours of ordering it. Keep up the great work girls.
More Product Reviews: Instead of buying a double pram, I kept our single pram and bought an Ergo. Either child can be carried in it, it's safe, really easy to use and comfortable for both child and adult. I love how versatile it is and my only regret is that I didn't get one sooner!

I love, love, love my Ergo. I can carry my 10kg son for hours and not feel it all, where in a standard frontpack my muscles ache after about 30 mins. My husband was sceptical at first but after using it now raves about it too!

I have been using this carrier as a front carrier (including infant insert) from newborn to about six months and loved it. It is easy to take with you everywhere and bubs falls asleep easily ;-) I am still using it for my now 19 months old when we're out and about in the woods - but now she's sitting in the back.
The only negative thing is that the strap isn't wide enough. I couldn't use the carrier straight after birth as I had gained quite a lot of weight through fluid retention and had to wait a couple of weeks for this to recide before the strap would fit around my belly.
I will definitely start using it again in a few weeks time when #2 has arrived :-)
