Organic buckwheat flour, coconut oil, brown rice syrup, organic coconut sugar, rolled oats, linseed, filtered water, organic white chocolate, crystalised ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, raising agent (500), Himalayan salt, ginger extract (0.4%), natural rosemary extract.

Why coconut oil?
Coconut oil is dairy and wheat free. Firstly it contains lauric acid which is a medium chain fatty acid. Mothers’ milk also contains lauric acid so how great is that for a lactation cookie! It’s also known as an antifungal, antiviral and anti microbial. Another great attribute for a breastfeeding mother.
Although it is a saturated fat it does not contribute to weight gain as there is no need for it to be emulsified with bile acids from the liver rather it is digested in the gut and helps provide energy. Victoria's Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr attributes it to helping her weight loss after having her baby and has 4 tsp a day! It’s great for hair and skin as well.

Why buckwheat flour?
Buckwheat flour is high in b vitamins, high in lysine, phosphorus, magnesium, iron zinc and cooper. It’s a great source of Alpha-Linolenic acid which is one of the two essential fatty acids we want to be healthy. It’s high in fibre. It contains the eight essential amino acids. It’s a rich supply of flavonoids and best of all its gluten free!

Why oats?
Oats provide dietary fibre to help relive constipation, which is very helpful for a lot of pregnant women. It’s a good source of essential vitamins such as thiamine, folic acid, biotin and vitamin e. They also have a low glycemic index which means you’ll have longer lasting energy!

Why linseeds?
